Hi Im new here and not sure if this is the right place to ask but here is my guitar. I am having trouble finding anything about it. It is a cutaway acoustic electric. The inside has stamped with red letters on a wood rectangle AV - SCEDWL. There are no numbers on it anywhere just made in Japan label at the top back. I bought it many years ago at a second hand guitar shop. Nothing is stamped on the back. Any thoughts?

Edit: I see the numbers 806213 also stamped on the inside stalk in blue, had to look hard to find it.

Wow, that's a new one on me. I've not seen an acoustic electric like this.
Normally we'd see the "Vantage" badging ahead of the Avenger label too.

Time for our resident expert...oh Johann?

Sorry for being late - I'm kinda busy these days.
I've got to admit that I've never seen this model before.

My Vantage acoustics have 6 digit numbers stamped on the bracing glued to the backside of the guitar. Both VW models I'm owning start with 80 and according to the existing catalogs I'm pretty sure this means 1980.
But the oval soundhole is a typical element of the Vantage VA series, and These models were introduced not before 1982 (AFAIK).
The "Avenger" Trademark popped up in 1982 too.
Style and Position of the volume knob is matching the 1982 VA series too.

In 1982 VANTAGE mixed headstock shapes as you can see on the X-series bass guitars of the 1982 Born to rock catalog, but my 1982 Vantage acoustic guitar catalog doesn't show a single model with "Avenger" headstock...

In summary: I've got no clue!
Interesting guitar anyhow!
J.

Lots of odd ball Mats showing up lately.
Always interesting to see but a bit frustrating when you're trying to ID them.

Hey Firebird, just look upon it as an unique version and a collector's item, but not necessarily of unusually high value.
