's a Vantage VA900 and according to the spec. sheet

http://members.dslextreme.com/users/jb007/vantage_cat/

They are 600GD "custom engineered humbucking pickups"; now Crusty or jb or one of the other knowledgeable characters in here may know what that actually means, 'cause I don't! I do know that they are 18V active and they have smooth and silky tone until you hit the pre-amp switch and "off we go!!" :D

The serial indicates the guitar was made in or about 1980, so I guess the pups would be about the same!!

Ka kite, John

I am at a loss on these guitar pickups and so is google.
Can't find a thing on KSSC or 600GD pickups.

Looks like we'll depend on you guys to tell us about them.
What would you compare them to?

The 748 Mark II looks great. How does it really play?

It plays very nicely-Comfortable neck-not too skinny. The sound coming out of the pups is good-vintage output. On the other hand not as good as high end boutique types but still very useable. The guitar weighs in the 8-9lb. range and it has some very nice appointments-Fret edge binding and flame maple top altough the finish is poly. It's been well taken care of-the electronics still sound clean.-It was a steal of a deal at $400. Came with original hardcase and tags to boot! The mystery of where it was made lies in those pups.Oh yeah, the back is 3-piece and the neck is 2-piece with the joint at the headstock side.70's pancake construction.Does that mean this is 70's made?

Sorry-It's not really a sales receipt. It's a shelf tag or guitar tag with the inv.
(invoice?) #259,serial # listed as NSN,and the retail price($459.00),and the model # H-748 TT,and model name which is Hondo Deluxe 748 Mark II.All this is typed on the "shelf tag".Hope this helps in some way.

In my world, "NSN" would stand for "No Serial Number". Just a guess, though.

Hmm, I've never seen that before. The boards in control cavities that I've seen were for electronic gadgetry. This one looks to be for quick assembly. How common is this?

Beautiful guitar by the way. . . :D
