a weird one, own it since a few weeks and getting curious who made it, it has some aria like things ( looks of the pu's) but i doubdt uncle mat made this one.


has also some of the typical kawai points, like stringguide and tremelo, but not the plastic tuners with white tunerrings common to kawai.
the tuners are original you can see that because they aged, and there are not extra screwholes under them.
it's a plywood body, reasonable playable (has some fret issues) and sounds good and it's a looker imo.

That looks like a very close relative of the Aria A-100/A-200 basses, which also appear under a variety of other guises:

I think most are in agreement that these are not Matsumoku products, despite appearing in the 1975 catalogue - maybe Arai kept them in the line-up as a budget instrument.

The main difference with yours, as far as I can see (apart from being a guitar, not a bass!) is the Mosrite-ish headstock, rather than the single sided bass version.

Very interesting, though - I don't think I've seen a guitar variation on this design before.

well thanks ! ...but I've to add some others :
in my topic NoName Mosrite copy Japan on my guitar the head is very simular as this Maral ; in my topic Aria A200 for Clearsound ?? the body & electrics & body covering are also very simular ; and another one (Kinor A100 copy) has also the same aestetics...
who can tell www (wich,where,when)about these ???
And very important : can someone,who owns a A200 Arai/Aria can get a digpic of the neckplate ? (My Clearsound has a 6-bolted neckplate , so if a A200 has the same this Clearsound is an Arai/aria !)
