Jon,

How did you manage to cut the pickguard so straight and even for your bass? I just did one for an Aria guitar and they are a B!tch to cut?....

It's basically a replica of the lower part of the original - I traced a paper template which I glued onto the new piece of plastic. I have a scroll saw which, while not accurate enough to follow the exact edge of the template, allowed me to get pretty close. After that it was just a file, some sandpaper, and lots of patience! You'll notice I went for a straight edge rather than the 45-degree bevel - much easier to get right!

If you have a router you can use a bevel cutter to make your PG.
