Hi all,
Finally decided to jump in and post one myself, hope this is the right section.
Some time ago I bought a strat copy, stated as stated as being "japanese strat copy from the 70s". It was a real bargain, so I decided to snag it.
It isn´t exactly in mint condition; It had its share of scratches and dents, obviously. And it could use some cleaning, too.
I would rerally like to know something about it. But I am somewhat confused about a few things: the two-piece headstock with a fake Fender logo (why the heck did he do that?), the truss rod cover which appears to be trimmed, with the 3rd and 4th string tree which is definitely aftermarket. It misses the switch tip, and an additional switch has been added, etc. The wood is nice and cool looking, it is quite heavy.
I´ve been told that it was made by Matsumoku and the original brand on the headstock was probably "Custom". So I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction? What are the chances that this is really an Matsumoku?
Thanks for taking time!
