I finally found one!

In Canada I mean... I hate extra charges from duty and stuff so been very patient and been waiting for one close by! I dont have it yet but it has been shipped. The bass will require some TLC once here plus maybe a little more...

I need help from other Rail owners since I might be missing some original parts.

Here are pictures of it from the seller.

it comes with the gig bag, unseen so far...

My first question is, anyone know this bass pick up? is it possibly the original under the cover?

Plus, the knob to hold the bridge in place seems to be replaced, Can any one post pictures of what it should look like outside of the bass so that I can reproduce it better?

Many thanks in advance plus more detailed pictures of the bass and TLC when she gets here....

I am very exited.. My main instrument for the last 5 years is my Super Headless so really excited to try this bass...

Congratulations my friend!
These are not the easiest things to find.

I suggest you hop over to the Westone forum and have a chat with Warrn...he has 3 of these beasts, if I recall correctly!
Meantime, have a look here: http://www.westoneguitars.net/basses/the-rail/

Nice, I have long wanted one as a travel bass. Then again anything has to be easier than my current traveling companion (the upright I sowed off a few months ago).

Congrats P. That brings that you own both of the topend Westie basses now? Cool!

Can´t help on the pup issue but as far as gigbag i believe that was OEM. Rails never came with HSCs to my knowledge.

Thank's, I really love my Super Headless and this bass also has lots of great reviews. I needed to have one... I want to compare and really want to try that weird design. That is quite original... Ever since the Super, I've had a thing for headless basses.

I would not mind getting a Thunder 2A bass also...

Westone's are just not that common in my area, distribution was not as successful in my parts...

Really excited but still have to wait for it to get here...like X-mas :santanut:

You are right about the gig bag. it's OEM and no hard case for it... That I dont like.... I like the fact that I will have the OEM bag but do not like using them. I beleive in hard cases and use nothing but....Will have to figure something out when she gets here...

Take a look at Pelican cases. They come in a wide range of sizes and shapes. They come with these little foam cubes so you can customize the fit. That a can of spray adhesive and $2 in crushed velvet of your choice in colors and you are good to go. They are light and tough.

Hey Frenchy, great little Bass's.
I have a Black 85 that I restored a while back.
Can't help with what the pup looks like under the cover though.
From memory I think its marked on the back though.
My only dislike with her, is she can move around a lot when playing due to the low body mass.
You get used to it though.
I just posted up a vid link to my 16year old playing mine at a school performance here.

I just went and took a look at it..Tres cool   Not bad for a quick 1 practice gig....

Your son did not seem to mind the no body and the light weight of the bass, he played it comfortably the whole song. Very happy to see that since was one of my concern with this bass. I have a travel guitar with no body and it is awkward to play at times...
