Gonna get one of these today. Been wanting another Mat since selling my 87 Aria Mega Metal KPI and regretting it....

Anyone have one? active pickups? Anyone know where I can get a copy of the original manual etc?

Thanks guys

I have one. It's a very cool little guitar with a 24" scale, hardtail bridge and two (not overly hot) passive pickups. It has tone and volume controls and a 3-way pickup selector. All very straightforward. Bodies are supposedly alder, but I'm pretty sure that mine is maple. At seven and a half pounds it's heavier than it looks but it is very well-balanced and comfortable to play.

Even though the Concord I was Westone's bottom-of-the line guitar and obviously aimed at young beginners
it's a very well made instrument.

For more info you might want to post at the Westone forum:

What he said.... :loon:

It's a nice light guitar.... My first impression when I got mine was that it was almost like a toy...Being a bass player and all... That thing is tiny

Freudian slip??

Actually Megametal, I have two of them and they are wonderful little noodlers. Reminiscent of a Gibby Melody Maker, except the neck is loads nicer to play.

Even got me a Concord I bass as well.... so there, Pierre!

Well i travelled the 30 miles to the guitar store where the owner said the guitar was in 'excellent' condition. It was in an awful mess. The neck and frets had been sanded very heavily and never lacquered again. The body didnt just have dings.....it was covered in them, and on the back of the body, thick pieces of paint and lacquer were coming of in strips.

The search goes on....... ;)

Scale length on a Concord I Bass: 16&1/8" from the edge of nut to crown of the 12th fret = 32&1/4"... right?

And since we are making this a Westone cross-postin', rootin'-tootin', high-falutin' thread...

http://forum.westoneguitars.net/t2345-f ... -footsteps

I am very close to deciding to move these on down the road, so ...  :-D
