Hey Guys,

I'm Matt and I'm new to the forum, and also the vintage japanese scene, but I just recently purchased this Greco SE-600:

http://imageevent.com/chingo123/march20 ... =4&x=0&p=4

I was just wondering if you could tell me if it was real or not. I have purchase from this seller before and he sold me a great EG59-50 but I'm not sure about this strat because apparently Matsumoku guitars are supposed to have Matsumoku written on the neck plate but I don't think I can see it. I trust the seller but I'm unsure, please can you help!

Thanks

Matt

Not all Matsumoku guitars have it written on the body or plates.
Does it have a serial number? That may help date it.

Those models were made in Japan and its likely Mat was involved.
From the pics it looks better built that a lot of the newer strats made overseas.

The pots look decent as does the wiring.
If the price is right go for it.

May I ask what he is asking for it?

The neck plate seems to have the serial number: 0011084 (or something similar). No "Made In Japan" or "Accurate Bolt-on System" as one might expect of a Mat. A clearer photo of it might help.

Also, welcome to another lefty!

Regards,

Tony C.

Serial looks to be something Mat was doing back in the day....Not lots to go on... Quality speaks for itself, this is a good one... Being from Mat or Fuji Gen, it's a very nice guitar

Wondering if this is a 78-80 model or a 1988?.... if 88, that would make her not a Mat...

I don't know if it is a Matt but they are very highly thought of and can go for a fair amount more than the seller is asking.

Yeah, FujiGen or Matsumoku you can't go wrong. The guitar has a fair amount of nicks and dings so around £320 is probably right.

...it's worth as much as a buyer is willing to pay and as much as the seller is willing to let it go for. :)
