Hi everyone. Been a little while since having a look through here. Hope everyone is well.

On my guitar website, if you are interested, you can see quite a few recent MIJ additions, including some new Mats.

http://private.s3productions.com.au/guitars/#

The Pearl LP, second from right at the top is a bit of a mystery. Various unsubstantiated sources say it was built at Matsumoku under contract to whoever Pearl was. i think Pearl were/are the drum people, and also built good micrphones and stompies back in the 80s.The stomps are very collectible, not for the least reason is that they are great analog pedals. Have quite a few.

Anybody have any definitive info on these Pearls? Pretty rare it seems.

Probably should put this on another topic, but have also recently purchased a 1995 Fernandes FGZ 550 - pics soon. Not much info, especially in English, about these. Anybody know anything about them? Rather nice 'shredder' type guitar, with the RG looking fins and typically pointy headstock, Gotoh pegs, good Floyd, pretty well built.

regards

Very sweet looking whatever it's origins, Graeme... The pup mods and accidental rewire sound to be a great improvement in tone by your website description.

At least Torch seems inclined to agree with your supposition on the Mats angle...

Been a while for me too!
We get a few Pearl LP's here in Ontario Canada.

I was going to refer you to Torch harrison but that has already been done.

There is also the Jedi Star site in your neck of the woods (down under) . Paul is a great guy and is compiling a comprehensive list of all makers.

Hi, Graeme! I have no information on the Pearl LP, but just wanted to let you know I just spent some very enjoyable and instructive time on your website - what a wonderful collection! I just love all those guitars, and your site is well done. Just wanted to thank you.

Pearl instruments (guitars, basses and pedals) were distributed across Canada by Great West Distribution. They did in Canada and in northern United States since they also had distribution channels in New York....

All I know is that so far, all the pearl I've seen is Japan made... We are not talking about the Drum set's here....

I have a Pearl Compresor and it's top notch.... but still like my Ross better... :D
