I wanted to verify which one used before I wrote it here... I bought a few in the last couple of years...

The one that did such a great Job... comes from a tip here on the board... Barry is the one that directed me towards the "Meguiar's Ultimate Compound" and have to say, it worked magic on this guitar!

Thank's again Barry :thanks:

I used it before but did not get this result... I was using the foam pads and the results not that great... I ran out of foam pads and just used a good old cotton rag and this is what I got.... no more foam pads for me.

I then used Napa car wax to give some protection...

The pick guard on my conrad came from www.eyguitarmusic.com as a pre cut, but they also sell it in sheet form IIRC.....

Here is the new guard up against the original pickup ring (no need for the rings with p90s....LOL

Glad it did the job for you! It's great stuff.

Odd. Usually the foam gives smoother results, but I do find that it may take several applications. Cotton is almost always a good choice, although if it isn't very soft (well used) it can also scratch!

I've been using Meguiar's Scratch X but I should try the Ultimate Compound. I have a friend's guitar here that I have to start to restore so it will be a good test.

Wonder if Titebond would be good enough for that....

I didn't have much luck with Titebond when I laminated the pickguard material on to the wood headstock of my new neck. I find that household Goop works great.

Me neither. So I guess the answer may be "no".

We can't even get Vegemite in Canada, let alone Cascamite!
