Yep Barry has more experience with the GHS pups. I have heard them in guitars but never put one in myself.

Is there a remarkable quality difference between chinese http://www.ebay.de/itm/200688226077?ssP ... 1423.l2649 , korean http://www.ebay.de/itm/251134435717?ssP ... 1423.l2649 and japanese http://www.ebay.de/itm/330935982640?ssP ... 1423.l2649 , http://www.ebay.de/itm/400586310560?ssP ... 1423.l2649 bridge and tailpiece to explain the substantial price difference? I think the chinese ones are sold by GFS too http://www.guitarfetish.com/Large-Bushi ... p_444.html, dont they?

I think as a rule of thumb, if you have a choice, I'd go for Japanese whenever possible, followed by Korean, then Chinese. There are exceptions of course, but in the general supply market that still seems to be the case.

Chinese quality can vary quite a bit unless it's overseen by a strict quality assurance program from a well known name like Gibson/Fender/Sigma/Wilkinson, etc.

Of course I have a choice, it is 48 EUR (incl. postage) for japanese vs. 6,52 EUR chinese bridge + tailpiece to put into 45 EUR VLP-500 body. Is the quality difference really such huge as the price difference?

For your purposes I would go with the less expensive bridge. You may find that there is some sloppy metal plating that can leave sharp edges. Ten minutes with some sandpaper and you are good to go. The fit on the posts and bushings may be a bit loose. I put a little plumber's teflon tape on the threads if necessary.

And what about to go also for less expensive pickups for this purpose? http://www.ebay.de/itm/301000467654?ssP ... 1423.l2649 Four times cheaper than GFS, the same postage, 4 conductors=splittable.

Hmm, I don't know these and they may be fine but the GFS are known to be good. They are such a big part of the sound and still relatively cheap. I would stick with the GFS.

1) What is the best way to fill the missing wood? To mix the sawdust with epoxide od Titebond?
2) How to refinish the Vantage logo?
3) To use the black nail polish afterwards?

4) Just to wet sand (grit 600), rub and polish the back of the neck?

We would like to make the crack as invisible as possible. I am waiting for your suggestions.

Without a complete refinish, I doubt you are going to be able to get that neck repair invisible. I am not even sure you can then.

This may seam like heresy to some but I would go with an auto-body filler like Bondo on the head. Fill it in, sand it down. If necessary you can put a veneer on the face of the head (this is common on guitars including Les Paul's). You can make your own decal. I believe the Vantage logo uses Vivaldi font.

I agree with you Nevin. That's an awful lot of cracks and holes in a small area. You'll go mad trying to make it look good Brain.
Yes the font is Vivaldi, and I think someone on the boards here has done his own water slide decals IIRC.
