I'm not sure if this info got posted before somewhere here, but there's an older instructive post over at the Westone Forums that got reactivated recently.

Forum member westbone did some tinkering with the well known 45 pickup and got some dramatic improvements. A couple of others followed suit and got similar joy.

Worth a look if you've ever considered swapping out the stock pups. Changing the magnets just might be a good option instead.

Thanks Barry. I'll check it out. I'll be up for it as soon I recover from totally screwing up the StewMac Ghost Drive build.

I haven't done this myself but I've toyed with the idea.

I was about to say StewMac is going to be good quality but likely pricey...but you've discovered that already I see.
