Hi,
I recently purchased this 1983 Falcon (set neck, flat top), and love it. Just wanted to post the pics in case anybody is interested--seems like these set-neck versions aren't as common, not sure why. Anyway, the guitar is very lightweight, so the set-neck version must be quite a bit different from the through-body earlier models. But it still has great sustain and fantastic tone. Love the pickups. Wish I could fix the preamp, which I broke after opening the backplate (hoping to fix it soon). Frets are a little shorter than I'm used to, but it still plays very nicely with crazy-low action and no fret buzz.

They aren't great pics, sorry.

Thanks! Btw, I see that I was confusing my Falcon with my Vantage VA900 when I said I needed to fix the preamp. No preamp on the Falcon :-).

Well, I so wanted to love this guitar. But I found that I wasn't choosing to play it much, something about the shape of the neck just didn't gel with me (I guess I'm too accustomed to the super-strat thin necks, and this is more like a Les Paul neck, I think). So now I'm putting it up on the block. Maybe I'll look for an older neck-through Falcon and see if that works better for me.

I usually give myself more than 10 days to bond with an instrument but if its not working, its not working. Let people here know when and where it is for sale in the auction section. You are likely to have interest.

I'd be willing to bet any Falcon, regardless of neck joint will have a similar feel.

Thanks--that's good to know, might have ended up with a very similar neck.
