Hi Guys, Im new to the forum, I was hoping you can help me.
I have recently acquired a 1979 Washburn Falcon Custom.....but I can find no record online of them ever making a custom. The brass plate on the headstock (brass out of character for a Falcon anyway) actually says "Falcon Custom"
It seems to have characteristics which don’t seem to fit into the A, B or C models.
It’s the natural finish with the Darker wood lines going through the middle...I'll get some photos on here later as Im at work now
Its 1979 (serial is stamped on the inside of the electrics plate on the back).
The Jack input is on the top of the guitar like an A model but it has the comfort cutaway like a B model
The V shape in the top of the headstock also appears more curved than V shaped.
Inlays are 'dot' and pearl as per an A model
Back plate is oval ….but not really the same shape as the A model pictures Ive seen online
Tuners are Brass
Pickups I have on it are black humbuckers and arent the type that look like 2 single coils together as per usual Falcons. As I have no basis for comparison I have no idea if they’ve been changed or not but will say that they are absolutely incredible
In fact, an incredible guitar all round
Anybody out there got similar or heard of these?
...also....how do I make photos small enough to be uploaded on here? mine are 2mb...I downsized them using Paint but still way too big
Jim
