Another:
"I feel for you ... think I love you (purely Platonical, mind you)
Coir-sair let me love you, let me love you Cor-sair,
Let me love you that's all I wanna do ... 'cause I feel for you

Also, while I am on the subject of my lefty Falcon, (which I promise to show some pics of...) would I be correct in thinking that it should really have a brass nut - which it hasn't - and would any of you experts out there know how I could put my hands on a replacement, either a genuine part or a lookalike? Or are there other guitars out there which also have brass nuts in the same dimensions? And if I could get my hands on a nut to fit a righty Falcon, would simply flipping it make it a lefty?
All these questions.
Thanks.

I got a couple of Matsu-made Vantages with brass nuts. With those, reverse to left: forget it! Find yourself a metalworker nearby, it shouldn't be too difficult to reproduce a fitting nut, since it's a pretty simple part. Provide him/her with the right measurements, or a good example (in plastic, if needed) and you'll be just fine.

Yep, the you should be able to source a brass nut from any of the major guitar parts suppliers, like Stewmac. Flipping a r/h nut ain't gonna work because of the slots cut for the strings; ie the bass string slots are a LOT bigger than the treble strings....
You will need to find out what the string spacings are for the Falcon, but I'm sure they'll be a standard, metric size, eh!

You've seen this, right...?

Beutiful guitar!

You do however know that it is not an Uncle Mat but a Yamaki?

Axe seems to have had the pups changed coupled with a respray of the body?

Lefty Falcon...didn´t even know they made those.

FWIW...word of advice.
Some of the tuners seems like they´re not lining up.
If so,release tension of the strings and line them up.
Start by tightening down the small philips screws that index them on the back of the head.
Then use a wrench to tigthen the tuner to the head from the "front" side so to say.
That done bring the philips screwdriver to the machine heads of the tuners.
Tighten the littel screw in the middle as far as it´ll go.

If you´re up to it as the string are all lose...clean the nut out with some copper polish-especialy in the slots for the strings.
This little stunt will make the axe hold a tune WAY better than it did.
Trust me.

Do you know if the dual strap buttons up front are stock or if it is an "aftermarket" solution of some sorts?
Right handers carry just one on the underside of the upper horn.

Just noticed that the nut has been changed for an aftermarket,so disregard the comment on copper polish. :D

Dunno how hard it would be to localize a set of correct pup frames and pups...but i suspect the ones in there are super distortions?

Hi Racing. Your knowledge greatly surpasses mine.
As you probably saw in the pics, the Falcon's serial number is 811561, and I seem to recall looking it up, which led me to think it's a Matsumoku guitar.
Now, you say it's a Yamaki - is that because you've looked up the serial number in a database somewhere? Also, pray tell, is Yamaki another factory, (must plead ignorance here) and what is its reputation compared to Matsumoku?
Am I correct in thinking it's an '81 guitar, as the first 2 digits of the S/N are 81?
I have looked fairly closely at the body, just to check that the electrics haven't been changed from righty to lefty, and there is no sign ofthat.
When I bought the guitar (eBay, last summer) I kind of suspected that a lefty Falcon (or come to that any lefty Washburn Wing) might be uncommon, but I haven't seen any other lefty Falcons or Eagles.

Hi Racing - just looked at yr reply and the Falcon again - the "extra" strap button matches the other two exactly, and the wood surrounding it has no traces of cack-handed DIY. I can only assume the factory fitted a righty strap button because somebody was working on autopilot, or because the strap buttons were an early part of the assembly process before any of the lefty gubbins were installed. I do think it was rather clever of them to fit a strap button to a hidden part of the guitar, so 2 strap buttons weren't apparent on the horns to an onlooker or the audience.
The nut has just been tweaked for me by one of the Crozier brothers at Guitar Junction in Worthing (UK), so I hope ad assume they got it right first time. But your other comments about the tuners I'll have a look at when I have summoned up the courage.
