Just brought home a new Washburn Falcon B model aka a Rosewood Eagle in the catalogue...and I have to say that it is just amazing.
Folks often rave about their new guitars and seldom have I felt the need to spread the word about a new guitar acquisition...but this guitar's
build quality and selection of woods is just superb. I have owned numerous (dozens) of uncle matt guitars over the years and this one is
miles above the rest. It just sings too with the clearest cleanest highs and it sustains for infinity. I am surprised there isn't a stronger following.
It's been played by John Fogarty of CCR, Nancy Wilson of Heart, Andy Summers of The Police and Bob Marley....for good reason.
Built in 79 suggests that it was made by Yamaki...

If you pop the control cavity cover off there is maybe a metal box that covers all the controls. There is a circuit board on the inside that might have Yamaki printed on it. That's the way my 79 rosewood falcon was. I agree that it is one fabulously made guitar. I could look at it all day, I just never really warmed up to the neck - - so I sold it to a guy I work with.

If that is a tummy cut on the back then it is probably an Eagle. It's kind of hard to tell - - but a beautiful speciman none the less. I betting yamaki.

Looks like a deadringer for my old -79 Falcon.

The Eagles i´ve seen all have multilayer bindings.(While the Falcons have all been single layer)
Control cavity tin box i´ve seen on both.Likewise with the belly cutout.

I've added some more pics that will hopefully show the multi-layer binding.
Thanks for the kind comments. I am thrilled with this guitar.

Beautiful guitar! Eagle indeed.. a close look at the pics revealed this one has the double bindings, only the original knobs are missing. Also noticed that this one has silver/metal coloured fretboard inlays instead of brass, saw that only on a few other rosewood-top Eagles so far. Pretty woodgrain on this one and she seems to be in a very good condition! Thanks for posting the pics!

Keen eye...I was expecting brass circular inlays on the fretboard and was surprised to find that they were silver in color.
I haven't cleaned her up yet and will repost pics once I polish the brass and polish up the body...it doesn't show but it's pretty
grungy. It has minor buckle rash and some areas have dings that have chipped the poly finish but not through to the wood.
Really straight neck. I often worry about the neck through models and warping when it comes to the neck.
