Just out of curiosity I snagged a PE-350 CST just to check it out. I know Shiro Arai/Aria Global is directly involved with the QC process. We'll see how this stands up. Brand new for less than $285 shipped. If the Classic Power pickups are like those of the 80s they will probably go away in place of something a little more contemporary. Tuners are TBD upon arrival. Wilkinson makes some Kluson clones that are 18-1 so if the tuners suck they will go away also. That is if the guitar is worth it. I've not had a post Matt PE as of yet.

I will update soon.

That was via Reverb and I had been watching it for a while. He also has a burst for about the same price. Actually it was $283. Let's see what I have to do to it to make it a good buy.

Got it in yesterday. Re-strung with 9s and intonation set. Relief and action set. Neck is perfectly straight and frets are level. Action is right gown on the fingerboard. Overall the build quality was much better than I was expecting. The new Classic Power pickups are much hotter than the 80s versions. The bridge pickup was a little shrill so I bridged the hot lead on the volume pot with a 0.005µF capacitor to ground trimming off the high end a bit. Now the bridge pickup sounds great. Adds a little bit of "creamy" to the tone. Think Tom Scholz or Montrose.

Fit and finish is excellent. Tuners have a fairly high ratio (at least 16-1 if not better). No tuner slipping either. The annoying bell knobs will be going away. Too hard to adjust quickly. On par with the other Korean, Indonesian and Chinese gems I've snatched up.
