I've owned several "plywood" sandwich body guitars and agree they were heavy. But, the advantage to such a solid and heavy body is great sustain. You can bend in and out of harmonics almost endlessly.

Aria never stopped selling guitars made in Japan. Obviously the factory had to change when Matsumoku closed. I think not Fujigen, more likely Terada. Cheaper guitars moved to Korean factories.

Your guitar should be Korean made.
