This is hanging at the same pawnshop where I got the vantage avenger(uncle vester).I just stopped by at lunch and took a real fast look at it.I know how important the serial number is but The guy didnt want me to take a picture of it so of course I snuck one in and of course I flubbed it.Did'nt say made in japan tho...I seem to remember the first digit was a 7 or 8 but if someone is interested I can go look at it again.I'm not trying to make money or wheel or deal or anything, just thought it was unusual to see a left hand guitar in the first place and that it was a aria.probally korea.I tryed to play it but it was weird and upside down and confused me.guy told me 100 bucks and its just east of los angeles.any interest just let me know.

That first digit looks too round to be a 7. Probably a 6 or 8. 6 = good, 8 = bad
I'm kinda looking for a lefty but not sure this is the one. If its not too much trouble, could you find out the serial?
No rush, I'm sure its not going anywhere.

Thanks

no problem jorg, either tomorrow or saturday. When I went In there I told the guy I had a friend in san diego that I was looking at it for. I think its been there awhile. The guy mentioned about 3 times that left handed guitars are really hard to sell.He was really bummed that I didnt buy it but I told him my friend had to see pictures first.I'll get better pictures and look at the frets and write down the serial number.you got dibs if you want it.

... looks like the 'negative' of mine. Mine is 1986, guess 'yours' is Matsu-made, too:

'accurate bolt on system' on the neck plate is just as good as 'Japan'

From what I can find, the Cat series stopped in '87. As in, died along with Matsumoku?
I'm under the impression these might be considered the "lower end" of products in Matsumoku's waning years hence the "laminate" bodies on some.

No matter. I still want one. Also, been looking for a lefty just 'cuz.

We'll see what the boss says. . . :banghead:

Not rocket science...just click the silhouette icon to the right that says, "PM" beside it. :)

Thank you barry.I would have a better chance of launching my vantage into orbit around pluto than figuring out any computer stuff.

Hey mrmortie, I may have led you astray...according to information just received, you may not be able to use the PM function yet because you still a "lower ranked" member with relatively few posts. If you are having troubles that may be the reason why. Perhaps Jorg can contact you via your registered email address? Holler if you're still having problems!
