Cool, if you are going to be doing a lot of swapping you may want to consider putting some quick connects in.

Last night I finally got around to doing the heart transplant on this old gal. I didn't bother with a lot of pix since this isn't exactly a rocket science moment. However I will comment on the wiring hookup for those who may want to do the same sort of replacement. The original wiring had a single white (hot) wire plus the ground (bare). The GFS Mean 90's come with white, red and bare. I connected white to white, and soldered the red to ground. Done. Neck = 8.0, Bridge = 8.9

To refresh memories, here's how she was with the stock HB's:

And here's how she looks now:

OK, not a big change visually, which was the idea of course. The only noticeable difference is the poles are now in the centre indicating that single coil pups now lays beneath those shiny covers!

But the big change is in the sound!! Wowser!! Warm, clear tone, with a range from jazzy to balls to the walls when pushed. darn near as good as the real thing in my vintage Gibson ES330. These are wonderful pickups and deliver as advertised, for very reasonable money.

I paid USD$37.95 ea, + shipping...and of course I was dinged at the border for GST and a "handling fee" from Customs (blood suckers, didn't even open the box). It's hard to parse out the precise landed cost since I ordered several sets of pups for various projects, but let's just say that for less that CAN$100 I turned a good sounding guitar into a great one!
GFS Mean 90's--highly recommended!!

Hi Barry

I've to note it somewhere, when I'll change pickups of my MIK Vantage 635V

As long as you understand the quirks of the P90 you'll love these Fabien!
They can get a little noisy if you are in front of the amplifier, but...who cares? They sound terrific

While you're at it ... change the bridge and stop (including shunts), too. I've had 4 or 5 of these 635's. The metal is too soft.
