Pics of the Peavey I can do...it's a road dog, lots of miles (and not a single knob) on this puppy:

The guitar is in a hunjit pieces, waiting for a time when I'm setting up to solder. Control cavity was a mess, but all (except the missing tone pot) worked. Pickups sounded OK, but my main amp is out for repair, so didn't really get a thorough comparison to judge by. Using that new-to-me Peavey for everything these days, just to run the amp through its paces and find all the things wrong with THAT, too.

More details & pics to follow, once higher-priority stuff gets out of the way.

Not sure why, but I re-assembled it last night without really tending to any of the issues. :dunno: Hey, at least I got some more pics, right? Sure is a striking looking guitar, the body contours especially are tough to capture in photos.

Open issues:

Frets need attention...one lumpy fret (19th) and some sizzle spots here & there.
Action could be better, haven't tweaked the truss yet.
Kahler bar interacts with the fine tuners, have to find a happy setting for it & leave it in place. Still a pain if you're looking to toss it into the case quickly.
Needs tone knob, but I figured I'd wait 'til finalizing pickup choices.
Humbucker...seems OK distorted, quacky & dull clean. I have a few good candidates to replace this, might also get a black plastic cover to keep aesthetics intact.
Single coils...not too bad distorted, sterile & quiet clean. Not sure what will fit with this routing. Current p'ups have no height adjustment, need to put some foam underneath to boost 'em a little closer to the strings.
Fretboard still dirty, needs a more thorough cleansing.
Haven't played 9s in a long time (these are a new set of GHS Boomer 9-42s that came in the case with the guitar), not sure if I'm going to end up moving to my usual 10s and adjusting the Kahler.
Need two black dome knobs, and a black blade switch tip.
Case is missing one latch.

More later, pics next.
