I think my wife said something...

Hmm, not sure what she's trying to say. Something about me not needing any help... :dunno:

Thanks for the info, crusty! But i've changed course and am holding out for a neck-through mats. Kinda like that beautiful va-800 i noticed you sold a few months back. Day late and a dollar short i guess.

Uhhhh.... Dr. Jorg, if that 800 ever becomes too much of a burden i could find a home for it! :hyper:

It's funny you say that because I think I'm at the same place Crusty was when he decided to let it go.
It's fine like it is and I enjoy playing it but, it needs a few little things to be "gig worthy".
I just don't know if I have it in me to modify what appears to be a 100% original survivor.

Seriously? That would be effin amazing!

Curious what ,in your eyes/ears, would make it gig worthy? Looks great to me though i am an admitted novice on the fine points of bridge/tuners/pickupdom.

It's unusual to find a Matt in that condition and still all original with original HSC. Believe it or not I found in on FB marketplace sold by a guy who inherited his Dad's pawn shop. I let it go for what I had in it. I could have wrung a lot more out of it on Regurge or eBitch. I knew Jorg would keep it original.

Honestly, the issues I have are minor and I'm fairly certain I can fix them to where most people would never know the difference.
There are always things that are considered "acceptable maintenance" on vintage equipment that will not harm its resale value.
That is where I am on this guitar.

Do I fix the issues or do I not?

Like Crusty, if I do decide to let it go, I want it to go to a good home and all I want is what I have in it.

I'm new here, i know. I certainly understand any hesitancy but i can tell you that i take care of my instruments (ok, not so much in my 20's but certainly now  ). I give them as much love as i can on any given day. And i would do the same for that 800 if it were to come my way. No worries either way but i am definitely interested.
I'd pm you but it says i need 10 posts to use that function. Gonna try to figure out how to resize som pics of my two vantages, that should get me there.
And rest assured.... modifying instruments is not my thing. I go to them not the other way around.
