Looks to be in decent shape, may need a new saddle (or four), and the price seems reasonable for the moment. It's an auction so could price out, but worth keeping an eye on i think.

A bit steep for what it is with regards to an instrument. A novelty piece to be sure but there were several flaws with the hollows of that period.

First and worst (but easily fixed with some shims) is the neck pocket on these would warp over time as they are not well supported into the body (full hollow). Secondly is the woods used for the neck. They have a tendency to warp over time no matter how you adjust the truss rod. The wood is not very dense and is brittle.

Look at the side-on view and you'll see the action is sky high due to the warped neck pocket. I've had 7 like this and ALL of them had this issue. Most I was able to make a shim out of maple to correct the warp to some degree but could never get the action quite where I like it. Click on the pic to expand and you'll see what I mean.
