What exactly is "Lawsuit Era" anyway? The lawsuit was filed in 1977 between Norlin and Hoshino, AND it was settled out of court, AND Hoshino had already abandoned the open book headstock for models exported to the US. 1977 was a year NOT an era.

This thing is just a badly abused bolt neck LP. It doesn't even have an open book headstock. Probably have to clean it with a hazmat suit. Guitar Center is looking for this one!

"Lawsuit Era" usage is crazy.

Speaking of your favorite store GC :D
you'll like this VIntage V52 put in the VAntage search.

https://www.guitarcenter.com/Used/Vanta ... -Guitar.gc

I wish it were a Fender and not a $450 (new) VIntage guitar.

Yeah, and my understanding is that there wasn't even an actual lawsuit just a "cease and desist" order on pain of one.

I'm a big Vintage guitar fan (I have 4 of them) and they consistently punch above their weight with excellent build quality and Wilkinson electronics and hardware.

Sadly they are almost as rare as rocking horse poo in Canada now and when you you do find one the price has gone up just like our beloved Matsumoku guitars have.

It's also frustrating to search for these things because the name invariably gets interpreted as looking for vintage guitars generally rather than a brand logo.

Dont know one guitar from the first list... :toopid:

Second list is more like it... Im still sticking to what I was searching for, I am patient and do find nice ones once in a while.

Notice you guys look at reverb lots for guitars, I find it way to expensive there.

I see a lot on Reverb but only when the price is right do I buy. Research, research and research first. Three sites I use the most is Goodwill, Music Go Round and Reverb. Now and then I come across a great deal on eBay. Most of the guitars I come across the sellers are so proud they price them to keep them forever.

One thing I won't do is lowball someone. I hate that myself. If the price is fair I seldom haggle. In particular if they have dropped the price considerably. I can usually tell the guitar players from the guitar flippers.
