I don't know where this one belongs in the APII Pro chronology.
I assume post mats, MIK? :dunno:

I think this may be the same as the Vantage version which I see more of locally.

It doesn't have the nice head stock design or the elegant lines of the XX series but it ain't a bad specimen if you like this sort of style.

She's a "tad" pricey but does come with a very much needed hard shell case. Still. . .

CAN$1,400 w/HSC

Nice guitar! The price? That's $1037 USD.

This is why I seldom search for AP2 or Vantage any more. They are now the dominion of wealthy suburbanite collectors. You know, the guys with $100 barber shop haircuts, $40K Beemers, $75 a pair silk boxers, $1.2 Mil house, penny loafers, Rolex watches, manicured lawns and put up 792 feet of Christmas decorations each year sucking the power grid dry.

I pretty much pass by any listing that includes the words "rare", "vintage" or in particular "prototype" simply because they don't know the model. I'll decide that for myself. The price would likely be more like $500 if they weren't selling the word "vintage" as well.

The price is just plain insanity.
It'll be interesting to see if anyone is dumb (rich) enough to pay it. :toopid:

I say this is definitely a Mat. Very cool but not for that price.
There were a few models they made that look almost identical to what they were copying. This is one of those.
I dont know exactly when but sometime in the 80's.

And... my beemer was $53k...

I've seen a few now and then. Matt for sure. Aria had a DC with that headstock shape as well, bit like a Vantage Entertainer.

Just for the record, I wouldn't spend that much on a car... :D

I wish I knew more about those copies. I remember seeing BC Rich, Rickenbacker and Gibsons.
I know they aren't but they look like exact copies, so much that you could cover the name on the head and swear it was the real thing.

EDIT - Crusty probably bought this. . .

The store's name makes me wanna :barf: . For that much I could have a REAL Mockingbird. Actually I had one and foolishly traded it away. I had it made specifically for me. That was back when B. C. Rich was a respected name. Now they're for the most part junk.

If I had this amount of money I'd be buying a $350,000 '59 LP Burst and watch it appreciate to 400,000 + over the next few years what with inflation being the way it is. Then I'd buy the Aria above! :D

Actually those BC Rich copies from Aria never went cheap... I recall even 20 years ago they were already in the 100000 Yen Range... but no the pricing is absolute insanity. Having said so... the ratio to the cost of an early 80s BC Rich hasn't changed much.
