Hello. I bought this guitar for my son. We have researched as best we can but can't find out anything about this guitar at all. It's pretty lightweight, plays real nice and seems to be quite old. We would just love to know more about it. Can anyone help?

Hi it is a late 60's or early 70's copy of a Gibson SG. Most manufacturers had stopped copying the Gibson "open book" headstock design by around 1976 so this one probably predates that. The neck plate (piece of metal that the neck bolts go through on the back) may say "Made In Japan". If not it is probably a Korean instrument. Many of these were made by several different makers and frequently were labeled by the distributor rather than the maker. Sometimes music stores had their own house brand.

I have played a couple and liked them. Yours has neck binding and block inlays which it was probably near the top of the line for these style copies (until you get to the set neck ones). Enjoy.
