IIRC the guitar itself was nice to play but the Broad 'Tron pups were unremarkable when compared with the "real" Gretsch's. I'd spring for some TV Jones if the budget allow, or Filter 'Trons.
Unremarkable is the perfect description for the Broadtrons.
Graham, you say it has nicks and dings but it photographs very well. It could pass for nearly new!
Is it a bolt or set neck?
Jorg. It cleaned up pretty well. It is a bolt on neck. I had to fabricate a new neck plate, as original plate was missing, and had been replaced with 4 large washers!!
Barry. Have moved the DeArmonds on. Sold them to a guy up your way in Oakville, who is planning to install them in a 1975 Granada EA200. I guess it is a lawsuit era Matsomoku ES335 style guitar. I will be interested in how it sounds.
