Hello everybody,

I had a good guitar Saturday. I managed to swap my '91 APII Ta-60 for a APII U-60T silver sparkle. I also convinced the guy to swap my The Asama neckthrough for a '81 Westone Thunder IIa (sunset red). On the same day I also purchased some nos Aria Humbuckers, which I have mentioned in a earlier post. I had to drive 500 KM to get everything, but it was worth it.

Pictures of the Westone I will be posting on the Westone forum. Lately there have been quite a few early Thunder II's for sale here in the Netherlands. Recently I have been able to buy two Thunder II's. One in sunset red and one in navy blue.

Kind regards, Rob.

NIIICE! Picking up new toys personally is what I miss the most, not having my own transportation. I've had to pass on a number of great deals 'cause the seller refused to ship (where the greatest risk is for me) and too far to ask a buddy to drive. There have been a number of Thunder 1's and II's (along with the "A" variants) on the german Ebay and the Ebay Kleinanzeige sites over the past 6 months and a whole bunch out of England.

Great find Rob, she looks in very nice condition and the sparkle finish makes it just a bit more rare. Ready to rock and roll! :D

These are one of more "unusual" guitar shapes that Uncle Mats turned out and not to everyone's taste, but they are surprisingly comfortable guitars to play and well balanced. And unlike Corsair and me, you didn't have to resurrect it from the dead first!!

I am a bit sad though to hear that you gave up the TA60. Even though it's an MIK it too is a nicely made guitar. I really enjoy my '96 model.

Hi guys,

I was and am still happy with my new guitars. And it's always nice to meet new, guitar minded people. Which I did. Because the corona- measures are being lifted around Europe, it's possible again to go out and hunt for new guitars.
I wouldn't have traded my TA-60 for a "normal" U-60. If it wasn't a sparkle, I wouldn't have done it. But the guy was happy with it and I'm happy with the Urchin. I still have some nice semi-hollows to keep me company.

Kind regards, Rob.
