Seems within the margins, right? Hope it helped you :) .

That's all fine, there are enough variables in place that those discrepancies are expected. Yours looks healthy, mine's the sick puppy!

I was mostly curious to see if there was some kind of more complex switching system (like series on positions 2 & 4 or something), but yours measures like mine SHOULD. Thanks for the help!

Thanks, Barry...

OK, I went with the lookalike p'up instead of the Fender (the Fender was a no-poles-showing all-black), wired it in & sounds like I got it right the first time...can't test it at volume, my wife is asleep. New string trees (the old ones caught on the unwound strings, making fine-tuning a chore), put some muffling foam in the trem springs & cranked the springs down tight, and we're almost there. Quick sound-check tomorrow, then at some point it'll get a more thorough cleaning & some new strings & full set-up.

I'll live with the stock switching & knobs for a little while, just so nobody accuses me of unprovoked mutilation... :loon:

Oh, yeah- still getting a weird reading on the 2 & 4 switch settings (like, 2,ooo ohms!)...haven't figgered that out, yet. Sounds fine, though.

Also, please don't interpret any of this as any displeasure with the purchase or with the seller- he went out of his way to let me see & test the guitar, and I'm happy with the entire transaction. I ain't askeered a' no electrickery!

Hi John,

Yeah, mine has all the gold hardware and brass knobs, no phase switch...

I've only seen one 330 with the phase on it and it was a AV330 not an MX... kind of weird since in the catalogue the MX has the switch... :-?

These three are all from '82, and I think the one I had back in the '80s was also an '82:
