Do you reckon your VA912 is the same colour as Don's new VA900??

Yes! Think it's the second 900 colour. Maybe a lim.ed. colour, because most of the 900 guitars and basses we see here have the "harvestash" color.

Yes!
I've checked GDK9's '84 catalog again:

2 neckthru guitars in "Hi-Tech Black" and "Pearl White":
.....99 X
.....99 TD-X (TD is for fine tune tremolo)

2 neckthru basses:
.....99 B X
.....99 B X HD (HD is for headless)

all 4 pretty rare, and from Vantage's mid-eighties "Heavy Metal Line". Not really my kind of beer though.

Oh, I forgot.

That's an absolutely stunning collection of neckhtru guitars you got there, Johann.

Thanks!

On the pic of my collection the VA 900 is missing one knob, and the VA 900B is supplied with Jazz Bass knobs.
I took off one knob and gave it to a friend who made me some copies on his lathe.
Here is the result:

Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/url]

The knurling is not correct. He didn't have the tools for a 1 : 1 knurling (tools for the"original" kind of knurling are not available in Europe, he said).
Otherwise these are really nice brass knobs, and a perfect replacement for the Jazz Bass knobs on my VA 900B! :)
