As some of you know i service a guitar or two. So...this came in the door just before the weekend.

Image

The simple, honest truth is that this axe oozes of rocknroll. Them OEM P90s in there deliver...

Image

From what i gather these are rather scarse? The issue with it,why it has showed up here,is that around fret 14-16 the board has developed sort of a bump.
No good pics...i know...and i´ll shoot some more come tomorrow.

Oh wow, that is too cool. Shame about the bump. Is it falloff or a localised high area? Common in bolt-on Fenders....is this a bolt-on?

:hyper: PE-150 :hyper: ....the missing piece in my collection :D

@Prostheta : The PE-150 has a set neck, and the predecessor ET-240 has a bolt on one.

Interesting. I wonder why there is a hump then.

Yep. It´s setneck alright.
Neck in turn i´d say is very "matsumoku". Ie rather slim gibby 60s approx.

Some fool has tried to remedy the issue before i got in on the game. Someone has flattened the frets it isn´t even funny. No recrowning done after that.

Nikki.
From what i´ve gathered these are rather scarse? Do you have any more info on them? I will rip the P90s out of there as i pull the job needed. I know Oscar previously has touched on the some Mat delivered P90s very well can be Gibsons.?
This particular axe in turn is in an at least decent nick.

Niiiiice! P90's, Mmmm. 60's neck, double Mmmm
Put it in TV yellow with a tortoise shell pick guard and I'd love it even more.

The first guitar I built was an LPJ copy. Single pickup, wraparound tail. Really fun.

As promised,a few more then.

Pups as can be seen carry no markings what so ever.

The mandatory philips headed screws are there tho..

Have to say...i gave it a shot. Started out by using the radii block of 12",which is fretboard radii for these. To no avail though, sorry to say. The thing is that some previous owner had tried to remedy the issue with a honing stone i believe and in doing so managed to cut slope of the frets the wrong way.
That in turn ment that i had to level out way way way to much of the remaining frets upwards to get it level again...and the simple truth is that there wasn´t enough material left.

So. Gonna have to refret this one and while at it level that hump in the fretboard. Can´t win em all i guess...
Fretboard is the usual Matsumoku quality rosewood..just beutiful...

Fresh fretwire is already ordered. FWIW...closest there is to OEM these days to my findings is Dunlop 6100

Too bad you have to refret her Jesper, but that's a piece of cake for you, eh?

No markings on the pups. So, not likely Gibson's then? Maxxon's maybe? :dunno:

I've got my fingers cross that you don't slip with the soldering iron when defretting and that the Rosewood doesn't chip. :(
