This guitar will be making an appearance on stage this weekend! Not plugged in, though...just a prop. It'll be in a stage production of "Hairspray" for the next 5 days. We'll see how well it survives that torture test.

OK, finally a quick breather to follow up on this thread...which I've thoroughly enjoyed!

The Buwwet was, in fact, used as a stage prop in a giant production of Hairspray (cast of ~45 or so, 13-piece orchestra), and I ran the sound system (31 microphones, 13 separate output channels!). It performed flawlessly, and I decided to allow the cast & crew & orchestra members to autograph it and present it to their director at the cast party. The director had been super-humanly devoted to this cast and this production, even through the sudden loss of her Mother during the last few weeks of rehearsals. The gift had the desired impact, and is now a truly meaningful memento of this year's cast & crew & musicians. All good, and a better life than it would have had being just a beginner's hack.

Pics to follow, and as time allows I'll also comment on the pics in previous posts (many of which will become Facebook profile pics, I promise!).

The theater, taken from atop the set (more pics of the sound system coming soon, for the tech geeks):

The Buwwet's first appearance on stage (the character "Link", an Elvis/Buddy Holly type). When he stepped out on stage with it for the first time, the Director noticeably relaxed, and said, "That's it, that's all he needed...now, he's in character."

Two of the main reasons I got involved in the show - Kelsi played Tracy (right of center), and kicked it every night...and this was a very demanding role. In the center is her close friend Sam, playing her mother Edna...all 6' 8" of him, on high heels. Awesome, and he got better & better at the role every night. Just endless fun watching these two romp through their roles every night.

The presentation at the cast party...still haven't gotten good pics of the signed guitar up close, but I will soon.

Great story and a great outcome for the Buwet! :D Perfect.

(I saw a HS production of Hairspray last year and was blown away by the talent on stage. I couldn't believe how good some of these kids could sing, and the production was top-notch all around. Looks like your show had the same attributes- congrats!)

Really every single aspect was above-grade for a high school performance. Sets, lighting, costumes, hair...loads of fun. Once I spend some time with the recordings I'll post up some snips here.

More pics- my view from the back (left and right side arrays and a center cluster behind the grille):
