Well, where to start?
This originally came to me as a black on black, left hand '86 The Cat. I flipped it around to play right hand but quickly found the upper horn, now the lower horn, too close to the neck to play with any authority. It really wasn't a bad guitar so I tried to find it a new home but nobody wanted it. I put it in the corner and contemplated alterations to make it playable.
I picked up an '82 RS Special V body with bridge and figured I'd make a new pickguard and migrate everything over. Along the way, an acquaintance was looking for a loaded left hand stratish body. I offered him this as a complete guitar but he didn't want the neck. No big deal, the neck was my favorite part. So I sent him everything else. Almost a year ago I found the complete wiring harness from a Straycat (year unknown) minus the pickups. I didn't really care if everything worked because I got it for less than what most people want for just the knobs.
Fast forward to the last month or so, I was publicly shamed in another thread for not having this done. So, I collected many pics of different RS models and eyeballed a pickguard using the existing holes. Its not perfect and I took a few small liberties but most would never have a clue. The only things not original to some RS guitar are the pickguard, pickups (Wilkinson) and straplocks (Schaller).
The first 2 pics were sent to me from the guy I bought the body from. The others are how it looks today.
It plays very well. :rockwoot:

Sweet!

Just picked up a lefty bargain the other day, myself...mint condition '96 Pro-Tone Squier strat (MIK by Cort). Lovely. Really a high-quality piece all around.
