Just a preview - With any luck I'll be able to finish it up over the Labor Day Weekend.

Pretty! Mellow yellow and way more subtle than the green. I like the semi-gloss look. Are the zebra-pups going back in?

Thanks - zebra Pu's are indeed going back in with new black rings to add some definition.

BTW - I haven't finished with all the clear coat yet - this pic was shot after the first color coat.

Although, it probably will not wind up being super glossy................

I also like the color because it's not quite TV yellow nor is it at the other end with antique white. Being a CS sets it apart, and now the color sets it apart without being loud or obnoxious.

Looks like you're going to end up with a classy guitar. (Not that I'm partial to Cardinals or anything :D )

Ok, The sharp eyed amoung you will note that this isn't Imagequite finished. labor day weekend turned out to be a little busier than i had planned.

At any rate, thanks for the comments on the color. At times during the process I had my doubts, but it really pulled together once I got it put back together. I dig it, and it is unique among the guitars I own.

Since a bandmate talked me into selling him my other Cardinal, I've realised how much I miss playing this guitar, so I can't wait to get it all together. It's due for a good fret dress, so is going into the shop next week.

For the record, I had forgotten about Crusty's Cheescake guitar, but I

guess it shows that great minds think alike. Or something.

I used the re-Ranch vintage cream, if anyone is interested.

If you have any questions, let me know.

Cheers,
Scott

That looks sweet! And it's almost a finished product except for the strings and the strap-holders. Is the headstock getting the same colour?

Nice one!

Thanks.

Yes, the headstock is yellow, too. If you click on the link you can
see the entire guitar.

Hmmm, headstock looks a littlelonely. I may add the the "Aria Pro II" decal later, but for the time being would just rather spend my time playing the thing. Got it back from the shop, where they did a fantastic job on the frets and set-up ( thanks Mike!). I absolutely love this guitar ! Makes me a little sad that I sold my red cardinal to a bandmate, but I feel good that I saved him from spending his money on some junk new guitar. ( besides, I can "visit" any time) Someday I'll post a pic of the band sporting an "all 'Mat" line up)

BTW, the new bridge worked out great, and no more bleeding hands from resting it on the bridge.

Spreading the Uncle Matt gospel, 1 guitar player at a time. :D

Note - Sorry about the pics, noticed they are a little washed out looking. They certainly don't do justice to the color. I'll have to try again when I have some more time ( and better light !)
