Question- From the pic it looks like the edges are a bit more rounded off than I'm used to seeing on mine- Is it just a trick of the light, or did you enjoy sanding on this so much that you just couldn't stop?

I did make the edges a bit softer but not as much as it looks.
I'm still not done with the clear and it needs a level/crown but I didn't know what the neck was gonna do with strings on it.
I've had it for. . . awhile, and I don't know how long it had been disassembled before that. I considered going with another color due to its battle scars but I realized its never gonna be new again. Its a rescue. And when you get it just right, the grain really pops.

I have a couple of projects that are strung up for evaluation so I figured this should be no exception.
I gotta say, one CS was bad enough. Now I gots two!!
The main difference between this and my CS Deluxe is how/where the neck joins. This one ('81) ends up being about a fret further out than the ('84) Deluxe.
I got a bunch of honest guitar tools for Christmas and this is gonna be my guinea pig.

Ash....a fun wood to work with because of the grain! If you're happy with the matching of the body pieces you could happily rag the soft grain out with coarse to progressively finer grades of steel wool, grainfill a dark colour and oil her up. It looks like the Ash isn't as well matched as it could be however.
