Looking good  .
That grain should stick out like dogs bollocks when you put the clear on.

OK, then... the burst is on, and the only part of this that will be done by someone else, apart from a small electroplating job! The bloke that did this is a master of the airbrush and his work shows the inadequacy of mine; you can't see them here but there are small spots that do stand out as unfinished... too late to do anything about it, so I'm unconcerned...

Now, the clear coats...

I like the green burst very much! (Where is the "Good Job Smiley"?)

A mock up of what it's going to look like when I'm done. Yes, chaps... I know the bridge has no saddles and that there is no selector switch, but thanks for pointing it out!!

I've struck a snag in that a small section of the veneer has lifted a little, and I need to get glue in under the lacquer and veneer and am thinking that superglue injected underneath with a hypodermic syringe will do; I've tried putting white glue through a syringe and it doesn't work unless stupidly diluted - maybe the superglue will flow a little easier?! Anyone care to throw something into the ring here... I'm all ears, eh!!

I wonder why the Uncle mixed his brightwork; the bridge, saddles and wang bar are gold plated, but the tuners are the normal chrome?

It looks great, John!!
What about the strap pins, chrome or gold? Could the bridge be from a different guitar?

Better and better John!
There is a less viscous variation of CA available which is formulated for situations like this. I think that might be my choice here.

Ya know, I'm thinking the pup mounting rings could be changed to something which complements the colour scheme better than black. You may recall I put chrome rings on mine and it seems to work well. Perhaps creme rings on this one? Needs sumpthin' methinks.
