 Post subject: Rare ET-285 Style Bass

I've never seen one of these before; a NECK-THROUGH ET-285 in natural maple (an ET-285-N?)! Probably made on the same line that made the Univox Stereo Bass (Rickenbacker 4001 copy).
Maybe, they started making these after Rickenbacker bitched about the Univox Bass (???), so they could use up all the neck-through assemblies? Complete conjecture out of thin air on my part, so don't take that as fact, just a vague theory.

$450 opening bid on eBay, no bidders.

This bass failed to catch any bidders at the opening bid of $450 the first time around. It reappeared on eBay and sold today for $595.
A fair price for what might prove be a very rare bird.
