Hey guys how's it going?
I have a guitar I got from a buddy of mine which was his dad's and I'm having trouble determining what model it is. He said he got the guitar in the 60's or 70's and on the neck-plate it has the "made in japan" imprint which is why I think it's a Matsumoku. I looked up identifying serial numbers from that time period for Epiphones and the serial number on the guitar doesn't match that time periods system. The body of the guitar looks like an ET-270 and the tailpiece is the same from what I can see , but the pickguard and pickups are wrong. The guitar isn't in the greatest shape but I would like to know more about it because I would like to fix er' up for myself. If anyone has info on this guitar or has seen a similar one before I'd greatly appreciate the feedback. Couldn't figure out how to embed a picture so I have two links to my photobucket below.

I don't know much about Epiphone's by Matt but I suspect yours is at least refinished. The neck plate is of a kind found on Matt made guitars but not exclusively. Cool looking guitar though.
