Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I have an RS-600, and a while ago the toggle switch (not the rotary pickup selector) began to play up. Eventually it packed in altogether so I took it to a guitar techie here in provincial Thailand. I asked him to have a look at it, but I told him that if he wasn't 100 % SURE just to leave it and I'd do more research. Well, I got the guitar back working, but it's not right and I think he's cowboyed the job. Consequently if anyone has an early 80s RS-600 and could go to the trouble of opening the cover and taking a picture of the innards I'd be eternally grateful. At least then I'd have an idea of what he might have done. Cheers, Gordon

Welcome.
I have a 1980 RS600. I can get some pics up when I get home tonight.

Jorg,
I'm pretty sure the guy has somehow rewired the switch to bypass a faulty internal connection. I seem to be missing some tones, and there's no difference now between two of the switch positions. If I could get a sight of which wire is supposed to be where, I imagine I could probably get a hold of a new toggle switch and redo the whole job myself. I look forward to seeing the pics.
Thanks very much for the response!
Cheers.
Gordon

No need to apologize! Actually there's no hurry at all. The guitar is in Thailand, and I'm back at work in Saudi for the next few months - so anytime before June is fine by me :P

Hi Jorge,
Brilliant! The images are really clear. As I said, I'm about 2,000 miles away from the guitar right now but I've saved them and I'll let you know how I get on when I get back to Thailand. I'm hoping it's just a case of follow the wires.... Can't thank you enough.

Cheers,
Gordon
