Hi bit of a long shot but I have an RS 800 12 string , absolutely great guitar. I lent it to a friend and it was playing fine for over a year. However one day he informed me there was a problem with it on inspection the string retainers in the bridge had been pulled from the normal horizontal position through almost 90 degrees rendering the bridge useless and the guitar unplayable, has anyone had experience of this before ?.Im also writing in the hope that someone may have a spare out there ?. i have a feeling that the bridge may be quite unique in its construction- I have a rs 600 and the bridge on that is quite different-even ,obviously, allowing for the extra 6 strings. The bridge appears to me to be a solid casting with the interior machined out and the retaining parts have ,I think , been bent by the continual pressure of the 12 strings and probable metal fatigue. Any help /info would be appreciated.

This is a known problem area and one or two of the lads have had new ones made...

... this is about all I can point you towards; perhaps a PM to Racing or Wutz might see you right, though I don't expect it'll be cheap!! :)
