Long Story but I am a sucker for projects. Found a sweet blue TS400 in need of a little work. Does need a saddle and a nut. The nut and truss rod cover I'm not too worried about, but it would be nice to have originals.

These saddles seem to be difficult to find.


I know it's a long shot finding these parts, but...ya never know....

Those saddles are probably going to be tough to find. It's the same bridge used on the Cardinal CS-400. Same saddles as the rest of the CS series. I had CS-400 with two broken saddles. They are cast and break easily.

I wound up using a set of Fender American Standard saddles. I used a 1/8" piece of brass under the bridge to raise the saddles high enough without losing any string to body transmission that a wood shim would have caused.

Those saddles are nasty eh? I like the shimmed Fender saddle fix.

I was also wondering if the GE Smith half Telecaster bridge might be another alternative. Technically should work but aesthetically maybe not because of the recess? At least not without a bit of filling and leveling.

It seems that Uncle Mats had a "thing" for funky saddles and bridge designs, especially on the Westones, it's "house" brand. Pot metal parts that break under tension, goofy shim plates in the locking nuts, etc, etc.

Bloody shame considering everything else was so well designed and built.
