From what I know, this model was made in Korea for the European market. I haven't seen any of those for sale in the USA... and only one in Japan (around four years ago). The shop in Japan actually called this a PE-LTD-III.

The current PE-LTD sold in Europe actually looks like this: http://www.bestacoustics.de/cgi-bin/sit ... ct_id=1692

Aria's model politics is still not easy to understand. For example the PE-Inspire sold in Japan since 2002 is made in Japan... the PE Inspire sold in Europe (with the same specs) is made in Korea.

Thanks for the reply. Arias marketing is very hard to understand. I was out bid on this model a week ago on ebay by a last minute snipper. It was listed (here in the states) as new with no warrenty. Had I known it was not available over here at all, I would have bid much higher.
I just broke down and ordered a silver HM-III from Great Britin becouse there is no other way to get it. Thing is, becouse of shipping and other fees we had to pay $821.00 USD for a $479.00 guitar. Plus, I worry a bit about ordering from over seas like that.
I think Aria is really hurting themselves becouse so many americans are not being exposed to thier high qualty, low price point products.
Its really a shame. Thanks for your help!

Hi !
These ones are very rare, ´cause only a few pieces of them were imported to europe and meanwhile it´s a discontinued model. Ask the seller about shipment to the states, maybe he´s willing to help you !?! His reputation is OK !!!

A short info about the forwarding charges : Usefull is shipping via DHL AirMail. A parcel with the max. dimensions of 120*60*60 cm (47,25*23,62*23,62") and up to 10kg (22lb) will cost 74,00 € (~88 $) - optional available insurance up to 500 € will cost 6,00 € (~7,1 $) - every additional 100 € insurance will cost 1,50 € (~1,8 $).

BTW: Why do you pay 821$ for a 479$ guitar ?
..because of the high forwarding and/or customs charges ?

Nikki

There is currently a "40th Anniversary" PE on ebay.

Personally, I prefer the V and T for each pup. . . :)
