Hi everyone,
New to the forum but long time Aria player. I own a few but recently I was very fortunate to get back in my possession my 1st Aria Pro 2 SB900. I played this thing to death in the mid 90's. Toured, used it in the studio etc. The neck got cracked at a gig and later sold. The last owner windmilled it during a show 17 yrs an it was lost to a closet of a friend. Long story short it was returned to me last week. Stripped of all the parts. I have it going in to the luthiers to solidify the neck but would love to have it back in action with original Aria parts. If anyone has anything they are willing to part with please let me know. It is a black and gold SB900. I am happy to get anything.

Thanks for your time.

I just took some but need to figure out how to post pics here.. The 3 are what I have now. I had a sea blue SB900 that I traded away but have my sights on getting it back and and IGB55 string that was sold to buy my SB1000. I have another SB900 on the way.
I am hoping to get another (older) Integra as well as the IGB5 again.

Your SB-900 Black n' Gold is certainly the oddity. Narrow spacing, I presume? The SB Black n' Gold I and II as more commonly known were the same as the SB-R60/80 and the Elite I/II models. Just different hardware colours and paint schemes. I will certainly sort you out with a new bridge for the BnG in the narrow spacing as soon as numbers are in at the end of April. I need a minimum number of people interested in repro hardware to justify the initial equipment outlay. I'll talk by PM more on this of course.

The neck with the crack....which bass is that? It looks like it is following a very strange line and does not look like an easy repair. How is it structurally? If I were repairing it, I would drop a couple of Maple fillets in there to strengthen it....the crack is dangerously close to being cross grain crack which is the weakest glue joint to make structurally. You need to put that into the hands of somebody who knows what they're doing with the repair. If they don't crack the whole thing right off and suggest wicking glue into the join, take your instrument and go elsewhere. :)

Nowhere close to Finland, are you?

Yup
That is the restoration with the crack. nowhere near Finaland though. Luckily there is a top luthier in town who will be doing the work. The crack is not an issue structurally as I had it strung and played it for years like that prior to selling it.

The cavity for the bridge is 3.25" x 2.5". Whatever info you need from me on it just ask. Really want to hear this monster play again.

Thanks

I will pass the repair suggestions on to the luthier when I take it in.

G
