Listening with interest. :look:

Squid, for a guy who doesn't like 5-position switches on a guitar you seem hell bent on making yer life very complicated with this stuff, no?
Solodude, thanks for the article reference. Interesting, but there ain't enough days left in my life to get involved in this madness! :loon:

And Corsair, sadly, as you get older yer nuts will definitely need compensation.

I don't like 5-position switches mainly because I find them irritating on stage when I'm looking for position 2 or 4. Actually, I don't like 3-pickup guitars, in general! In studio they've been fine, but I still prefer a 3-way toggle & push-pull coil taps.

Um, except...now that I have a Westone Concord II I'm kinda liking the sound, ya know?

I didn't say I don't like the SOUND of triple-pickup guitars, I just don't like that the middle pickup is THERE, in the middle, in my way.

I liked Blackmore's approach to Strats- he'd lower the middle pickup practically inside the pickguard, and use the switch essentially as a two-way: bridge or neck.

Yep! I have the same complaint about them. Right smack in my pickin' and strummin' spot...forces ya to change yer hand position.
Royal pain in the arse. :evilrazz:
