If your ceiling is high enough, you can get two rows on top of each other at the wall. it used to be like that in my old apartment... in the new one the ceiling is lower, so there is only one row for the guitars standing upright and the ones above are stored flat.

The important part is to put what this company calls "Hanger Rail" (http://www.erecta.co.jp/home/accesory_p ... tml#chrome) into the rack... in a hight to lean the hardcase against it. On the movable racks they are mandatory... and on the other rack they will safe your wall.

I wouldn't necessary buy this brand, as they are about the most expensive you can find in Japan. There are other companies having the same system with a much better price/value relation.

Yeah, they do look familiar.
I think I agree with John...it looks very similar to what you see at a hotel to move luggage. But if Wutz says these are expensive there, they won't be a whole lot cheaper here!

I'm thinking that maybe the heavy plastic modular-type shelving from Home Depot/Rona might work in a pinch too, especially in a basement or non-showcase room?? Or maybe even those wooden pine slat thingies from Ikea?!
I'm starting to think maybe a combination of these for the hard shells plus some kind of vertical coat rack type hangar for the gig bags might work.

Thanks for the suggestion Wutz!

Home Erecta...haven't had one of those since 1906 (sigh)

I went on a hunt for some storage racks similar to Wutz's and I did find a Canadian source for metal ones:
http://www.econorack.com/wire_shelving
They also sell Used shelving of all kinds, mostly industrial/commercial however.

But I found this interesting post on the Telecaster site (!). Obviously we're not the only ones with this problem and there are a couple of neat if not a wee bit ambitious solutions given:
http://www.tdpri.com/forum/bad-dog-cafe/131288-wall-mounted-guitar-case-rack.html

There's a link to a site specializing in Guitar storage solutions too:
http://www.guitarstorage.com/

This one makes me wince a little bit. I don't think I'd trust my Thunder I-A or Spectrum GT with it but might be OK for acoustics and Danelectro's and the like?

Found the manufacturer website for the wire rack I'm using: http://www.atluminous.jp/wire-shelf/index.html

This one is quite a bit cheaper than the one I posted yesterday, but basically the same quality. There are cheaper ones available around here, but they tend to get rusty faster then you can assemble them.

I love when they throw the cat at the acoustic:

I'm appalled. Everyone knows you throw cats at electrics. . . :toopid:
