Well...ain't it always the way?!
I looked everywhere (I thought) for a repair to this sagging bridge. Couldn't find it, except I
did find references to Dan Erlewine's repair. But, do you think I wanted to spend a bunch of money for his whole DVD repair series to learn it? Nope.
Too bloody cheap for that!
So I'm strolling through You Tube, and much to my surprise I stumbled on that very same DVD set that someone had uploaded! I watched to whole darn thing, including the section on Dano bridge repairs. Too late for this guitar now, unless I want to reverse everything and start over, but I thought I'd share it anyway as a followup to this thread.
I roughly edited out two sections and knitted them together. The first is the newer style with the adjustable saddles (which had earlier been bent to match the fretboard radius), the second is my original design with the rosewood saddle.
(about 5 mins.)
http://youtu.be/sB9sBBpif4oLike all simple head slapper repairs, it's pretty obvious once you see it, but coming up with it in the first place is the genius part.
edit:
Photobucket recently updated its software and I was just double checking this thread to see if the video was viewable. It wasn't.
I have tried to update the link but I'm not having any success.
So. . .I have moved the video to my YouTube channel. The new link above is working now.
