Hi all! As you know, it has been my intention to build an instrument more or less around the same specs as the SB-R60/Black n' Gold I. Now I've reached the stage where I actually have something to show for all the planning I started a blog at http://ariasbblackngold.blogspot.com/ which I will be continually writing leadup and background work for over the coming weeks. At the end of the month physical work should begin, starting with the bridge, etc. This is common knowledge I think.

What I really would like to do however is have the veracity of the information and background I am adding proofed. I'm not one to propagate half-truths or anecdotal information as fact, so any help in this would be very much welcomed. Thanks in advance!

Looks really good Mate,
Info is good as far as I can see.
Myself & my sons are also a big fan of Cliff's Work.
I have a few sb's too, as most here are aware.
i've never mentioned my BnG's though.
I am very lucky to have 2 SB BnG 1's.
1 is absolutely Mint, in an original Hard Case & the other is in very good condition, no case though.
Love my SB's, love em love em love em.
Nice work Cheers.

Appreciated Trevor :D
I noticed your BnG collection. It's actually one of my inspirations behind the build, and my subsequent build will be either a CSB BnG or a CS BnG-12. I don't want to lean the blog towards being a history lesson, so just sticking to the general facts as they relate to my project is best I think. What was the circuitry in the SB BnG I/R60? Vol/tone and active/passive BB circuit switched in the same as the SB-1000?

Hey,
SB BnG1 is the same circuitry as in the rest of the R-60 models.
Passive, one vol, one tone, series/parallel mini switch, simple, bullet proof.
Man,You certainly have some cool projects.
Cheers.

Thanks Trevor. I only wish I had the resources to see them all through! Unfortunately I imagineer and design quicker than I can realise them given my current lack of permanent workspace....

The bombproof circuit will likely be expanded to be some form of hybrid between an SB-1000 with an active BB circuit buffer option but with a few more tricks up its sleeves, or at least I would like to think it will be. The electronics side of things are just the afterthought compared to the rest of the build!
