Well, just got my hands on a 1981 Vantage Avenger AV-325 and after searching the www i found this excellent forum.
Guess i should start by introducing myself.

My name is Magnus and i live in Stockholm, Sweden. Been playing guitars on and off for about 30 years.
I used to own an Aria Pro II Mega Metal about 25 years ago but did not know the story behind it or any of the
other Matsumoku guitars until i got the Avenger a couple of weeks ago.

It´s an awesome guitar, even compared to some of the Ibanez, ESP and Jacksons i´ve had in the past. It has some mods done,
the brass nut and the bridge has been replaced by the previous owner and i just dropped in some new DiMarzios (cost more than the guitar...).
Plays really well and apart from some dings and scratches is in great condition. I absolutely love it!

Will post pics in the Vantage section. :)

/Magnus

Hello Magnus and welcome to the forums.
Yep, the AV325 is a great little guitar. I own 2 of them, one is a string thru and the other a top mount. Both are fantastic players!

I am curious though why you replaced the pickups. :-?
The original MMK45's are considered by most to be outstandingly good pickups, on par with say a DiMarzio Super Distortion.
When you get a minute post up some pictures eh?

Thanks Barry.

Pics are up, check the Vantage section.

The pickups didn't look like the standard Avengers and had no marks at all. Look at the pics, i could be wrong...
And they where a bit weak, the DiMarzios made all the difference. :D
