Hi all, greetings from a new member. I'm a proud new owner of an old Vantage VS600B fretless bass. I'm guitar player but I love playing the fretless bass, a bit of a guilty pleasure I guess.

Searched around for VS600B and found a thread by Frenchy, my bass looks exactly like that, down to the hole at the neck joint heel, what is it with people and holes..ha! Or maybe my bass was Frenchy's??

Anyway, a quick hello from Sydney, Strayllia!

G'day and welcome to the family.
I'm sure that you will learn heaps about your bass here, along with the many other Mats that are kicking around (not some many in Oz these days).
Don't be afraid to post a few photos for us to  over.
Cheers from QLD
Don

... and from me, too, bloke... although I'm not actually an Aussie. Just another renegade kiwi passing through Qld on my way to anywhere but NZ!!!

We were in Sydney 7 weeks ago for a week, down on The Rocks; gorgeous part of a stunning city, eh!! OK, down to business; we live to see others instruments here, so get cracking with the old camera; even a few of your other babies in the Non-Matsumoku section.... if you must!

Are you a working muso, or like most of us in here, gigging rather infrequently? I caught an act in The rocks when we were there; a combo wiht a bloke called Michael Bevan out front doing originals: impressive enough for me to buy his CD - Rescue - during a break!!

Thanks guys! I feel welcomed :)

@Corsair: yes the Rocks is quite a beautiful part of the town, so many hidden alleys with interesting characters. I think I've got a few pics in my hard drive of all my gear, but I will try to take a few more group pics and post in the Treasures section...!

I am not a working muso, I work as a webmaster and only do music as a side, averaging around 3-4 gigs a month in a good month with different bands and groups of friends. Mainly guitars and saxes, playing bass when we can't find a suitable bassist :D

@GD K9: Thanks man, that avatar is actually the picture of my broken bridge, the one I used to get help for my bass, but turned out to be a good avatar haha..

Gotta go, dinner time!
