They are the same guitars, the same seller AND we've already discussed them. Just because the colors/specs don't show in that one catalog doesn't mean these are not original. If you look, there's another one just like these on ebay right now. I'm 99.999% positive these are stock.

These all look to be original... The knobs might be the only questionable pieces in my opinion...

Thanks for the link Jorg. Whew, what a story!! :-?
(You can stand down Squid you already did more than your share of research on this! )

It sounds indeed like the same dick head is back....and from the sound of it, using the same bloody pictures as a year ago??!!

It's hard to sort through it all but, IF these are really from a collector who has crossed over, shuffled off this mortal coil, or who has otherwise snuffed it, THEN, MAYBE, these are the genuine thing. In which case they're amazing and I would think pretty rare, no?

The colours are fantastic, but is there any evidence of Uncle Mats using anything other than highly saturated primary type colours during this period of manufacture?? They feel more like something that would have come out of the later SLM/Korean construction period. I have the feeling that these may have been purchased new by an avid 'fan' alright, then stripped and custom painted. The fact that there's a nekkid/raw 310 in there supports that hunch.

Sheesh!
Does it at least come with the original electronics?

Ya know, this is driving me mildly bonkers now! :toopid:
I just had another look at them all and I am convinced that these are custom finishes on these things. It's hard to tell for sure but the hardware does look to be original and age appropriate (read: "used"). The bodies and necks though look like they've never seen a player in their lives!

One more thing: take a look again at the burst finish. Then scroll down to the headstock shot:

What the heck is an X-33  ???

The more I look at them, the more I find to love. What an amazing assortment, stock or not. I'd gladly take any of them, other than the fact that I live 6000km away. Hmmm, I wonder what he'd charge for shipping...

The only one I'm interested in is the nekid one and I'm not paying anywhere near $200 for a body and neck.

Ironically as I write this I've just spent an hour hand sanding my 310. My arm's sore but it's almost *cough* done. Still not as clean as that one though. It musta 'bin sand blasted methinks.

From what I could tell (I have a bunch of pics from his various auctions & his site) they're almost all original finishes. Yeah, the guys I corresponded with were absolute...hmmm, can't think of any words that are site-appropriate here. Let's say that they worked very hard to NOT sell them to me, even though I put bids on the entire lot of them. Some day I may swing by there to take a look at them, or maybe I'll just eat a burrito first & stink up his store for a while. :D
